Mid-Atlantic Media, LLC has expanded its media holdings with the acquisition of Pittsburgh Parent magazine.

Pittsburgh Parent, a regional parenting magazine covering Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding suburbs, was sold by Honey Hill Publishing Inc. and its Owner/Publisher Lynn Honeywill-Norris. Terms of the deal were not released.

“Parent was a dream of my mothers, Marilyn Honeywill, that she and I turned into reality 37 years ago to provide resources for parents and families throughout the Pittsburgh Area. Pittsburgh Parent has been blessed with family, friends and a staff who have dedicated both time and talent ... as well as advertisers who believed in us from the beginning. I am pleased to align Pittsburgh Parent with an award-winning publishing group that will continue to provide expert, local information for parents in the Pittsburgh area. I am confident that Pittsburgh Parent will be in good hands with the MidAtlantic Media Family of publications,” Honeywill-Norris said.

Mid-Atlantic Media CEO and Publisher Craig Burke said that the acquisition of Pittsburgh Parent is another welcomed addition to the media company’s strategic plans. “We’re adding these parenting publications to our media portfolio in a smart, strategic way. This is our sixth (6) parenting publication acquisition, and all of them are regionally close to one another. The Honeywill family has built an impressive business with Pittsburgh Parent, serving this community for 36 years, and we intend to keep that tradition going. We look forward to providing valuable content to Pittsburgh families,” Burke continued, “and helping our advertisers grow their business.”
