Russell Morash, a public television producer and director who helped turn a cookbook author, Julia Child, into America’s chef and transformed bathroom tile replacement and roof repair into addictive TV with “This Old House,” died on June 19 in Concord, Massachusetts. He was 88.

His death, in a hospital, was confirmed by his wife, Marian Morash, who said the cause was a brain hemorrhage.
