Quartz, a G/O Media brand and leading business news and information site, today named experienced editor and newsroom leader Sarah Douglass as executive editor. The site’s ninth new editorial hire in the past four months, Douglass starts on June 24.

In this role, Douglass will manage journalists, drive news planning and coverage, and look to strengthen and streamline operations.

Douglass has a proven track record of success in newsroom operations and multi-platform audience growth. Her editorial experience encompasses a variety of different newsrooms including CBS Radio and The Daily Mail. She has successfully built new workflows and processes for far-flung breaking news events on TV and digital and helped launch new radio programs from scratch. Douglas joins Quartz most recently from FOX Weather, where she was a senior editor.

Douglass got her bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and her master’s from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY.
