New York Times announces new roles on Audio

I’m thrilled to announce that Davis Land is the new senior producer of the “Modern Love” podcast. Davis was instrumental in launching “Hard Fork,” which he has been helping lead for almost two years. He’s adept at designing the sound, shape and feel of fast-paced weekly shows, and the “Modern Love” team is fortunate to have his creative, thoughtful perspective going forward. “Davis is coming aboard during such a crucial time of development and experimentation,” says Anna Martin, host of the podcast. “His track record launching ‘Hard Fork’ is inspiring. I can’t wait to see how his contributions influence the show’s mission to bring listeners relatable, timely love and relationship stories.”

Davis joins “Modern Love” alongside Reva Goldberg, also senior producer. Reva started as a temporary senior producer but made herself so instrumental that we couldn’t bear to see her go. She quickly grasped the editorial style of the show, while creating new and efficient production systems. She produced this recent episode with the actor and singer/songwriter Maya Hawke. Prior to joining The Times, Reva was at Humanities New York and Ten Percent Happier’s “More Than a Feeling” podcast.

With Davis moving over to the “Modern Love” podcast, Whitney Jones, who has been working as a temporary senior producer on “Hard Fork” for the past three months, will officially join the show full-time. “Whitney has already brought a steady, calming hand to our fast-paced weekly production schedule since joining the team earlier this year. He’s smart and thoughtful, a natural leader, and we’re thrilled he’s staying on,” said Kevin Roose, co-host of “Hard Fork.” Most recently, Whitney was a senior producer at WNYC’s “More Perfect.” Before his time at WNYC, he was a senior producer for New York magazine’s “Cover Story” and a producer at The Moth and for American Public Media’s “Spectacular Failures.”

Please congratulate everyone on their exciting new roles.
