Local 4 and the Michigan Chronicle partner for a historic 24-hour streaming event on Local 4+ to highlight Highland Park

WDIV Local 4, a leading force in journalism in an unprecedented collaboration with the Michigan Chronicle, proudly announces a historic 24-hour streaming event on June 3, beginning at 6 a.m. and ending on June 4 at 6 a.m. Anchor/Reporter Karen Drew will spend 24 nonstop hours in the community of Highland Park celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Mama Shu and addressing the victories and ongoing needs of the city. The groundbreaking event will air live across multiple platforms, including Local 4 Plus, ClickonDetroit and throughout the day on Local 4.

The event will offer an immersive storytelling experience through the eyes of four diverse families from Highland Park, showcasing their daily lives, challenges and aspirations. Drew, along with three live streaming cameras, will provide continuous coverage, capturing real-time moments and intimate narratives from the heart of the community.

“I’ve been covering Mama Shu’s contributions to Highland Park for many years, and they are nothing short of legendary. This event is our tribute to her and the city and a call to action for the future,” says Drew. “I wanted to do this to let viewers witness the resilience and spirit of the community.”

This historic event will culminate in a one-hour special on Local 4 Plus airing on June 26.
