The Houston Chronicle has expanded its local investigative and impact team to include reporters in Houston and Austin focused on key topics that matter the most in the region.
The Chronicle has doubled the number of reporters who are part of the team through an internal reorganization. The team is led by Senior Director of Investigations Yaffa Fredrick, who is based in Houston. Senior investigations Editor Rob Eckhart reports to Fredrick and will continue to lead the team based in Austin.
This 10-person team will focus primarily on reporting with impact and investigative work on topic areas such as criminal justice, government accountability, suburban growth and development, the oil and gas industry, the medical industry, power and influence — and more.
