The Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY is now accepting applications for the fifth cohort of the Executive Program in News Innovation and Leadership. This year-long certificate program — which runs from September 2024 to June 2025 — invites global media leaders with backgrounds in editorial, product, business and technology from local, national and international news organizations to apply.
The program operates on a hybrid model, allowing participants to engage in virtual sessions while convening three times a year for in-person residencies in New York City. Akin to an MBA, the curriculum imparts holistic leadership, business and management training to senior-level journalists and media managers. Expert instructors and coaches anchor the program, aiming to empower news leaders in navigating the business of journalism, devising strategies for sustainability and innovation, and fostering more effective and equitable team leadership.
