Announcement from Publisher and CEO William Lewis:

I am delighted to start the week with some good news: Gregg Fernandes, who has been with The Post for 37 years and has led our print circulation, production and security teams for 15 years, is being promoted to Chief of Print Operations. As we aim to deliver more for our customers, print will be an important part of our strategy. Aligning with our strategic priorities and Build It plan, Gregg’s mandate will expand his previous role as Vice President, Customer Care & Logistics to look across all areas of the company that focus on print. Gregg will determine how to maximize the print opportunity for our customers and prepare us for the future. He will also continue to oversee The Post’s mission-critical security operation. Please join me in congratulating Gregg on this well-deserved promotion, which is effective immediately.

Our executive leadership team, including Gregg, spent two days together last week examining our performance in the third quarter and aligning on our Q4 goals. While we have much more work ahead and an election coming in 29 days, it was exciting to review the substantial progress we have made so far against the Build It plan. We look forward to sharing these updates soon to prepare us for our Scale It phase next year.

One of the areas where we have seen good progress has been in embracing AI. Over the past few months we have been rolling out and testing new products, further developing our AI capabilities. Last week, a subset of our website visitors began receiving an A/B test on our search feature to test The Post’s “AI Answers” (user facing name TBD) product. As with Climate Answers, this tool is designed to provide audiences an AI-generated response to their questions, summarized from Washington Post journalism.
