Announcement from Chiqui Esteban, director of graphics, Tim Meko, deputy director of graphics, and Kevin Uhrmacher, graphics assignment editor:

We are happy to announce that Adrián Blanco Ramos will become the new Graphics assignment editor based in Europe.

Adrián arrived at The Post as a summer intern in 2019, and he has spent most of his time on the team focused on politics. His progress in the Graphics department includes a recent stint as an interim assignment editor focused on politics. Aside from proving his chops as an editor during those months, Adrián also delighted us with interactive stories explaining where immigrants live in the U.S.how America’s demographics have changed through the decades, and how election modeling works.

He has earned a reputation as a great collaborator, and played a key role in several major investigative projects, including our examination of slaveholding members of Congress and the Smithsonian’s brain collection.

Adrián, who grew up in Miranda de Ebro in northern Spain, will be based in Madrid. He will remain based in Washington through the election and will assume his new role when he moves to Spain on Dec. 1.
