By: E&P Staff Syndicated columnist and astrologer Linda C. Black, whose daily horoscopes were distributed through Tribune Media Services, died after a long battle with ovarian cancer at the age of 65, her daughter announced Thursday.

Black studied and practiced astrology for more than 40 years, following a childhood interest. She began writing horoscopes for Tribune Media in 1992.

"It was Linda's wish to have her daughter, Nancy Black, herself an internationally syndicated writer, with whom Linda collaborated for the last several months of her life, continue her legacy," her family revealed in a statement. "Nancy will work with astrologer Stephanie Clements, who holds a doctorate in Transpersonal Psychology, and was professionally certified by American Federation of Astrologers in 1974. Nancy and Stephanie will continue to provide reliable, accurate astrology that honors Linda's style and respect for her readers."

"Linda will be greatly missed by her readers, client editors and TMS family," Mary Elson, managing editor at TMS, said in the announcement. "We're delighted to continue her popular feature under the guidance of her daughter, Nancy, and Stephanie Clements."
