Foxboro's Jack Authelet dies at age 90

Foxboro’s Jack Authelet, whose passion for local history and civic boosterism was exceeded only by his commitment to community journalism, died Sept. 18 at Life Care Center in Attleboro, eight days shy of his 91st birthday.

He was the husband of Margery (McKay) Authelet, who died in December 2017.

A lifelong Foxboro resident who graduated Foxboro High School with the Class of 1950, he answered to the title of “Town Historian,” but arguably was best known for a lengthy connection — first as editor and subsequently as a long-time contributor — to his hometown Foxboro Reporter.
