Connect Savannah, a voice in the Savannah community for nearly three decades, announced that on August 16, 2024, it will cease publishing its print magazine and digital news website. This decision marks the end of an era for a publication that has been central to Savannah’s arts, entertainment and news coverage.

In a letter posted to their website, the staff of Connect Savannah expressed deep gratitude to the readers, advertisers and community members who have supported the publication over the years. The letter cited changing reader habits and a challenging marketing landscape as key factors behind the decision to discontinue the magazine and website. Despite these challenges, the team at Connect Savannah emphasized their commitment to remaining a vital part of the community in a different capacity.

“Like a phoenix rising, we plan to continue our experiences, events, and some newsletters,” the letter stated, highlighting ongoing initiatives such as the Flavors newsletter, the Southeast Georgia Leadership Forum and the Best of Savannah event. The team intends to focus on these events and experiences, building upon the connections they have fostered throughout the years.

While the news and arts coverage chapter is closing, Connect Savannah reassured readers that their digital archives will remain accessible, allowing the community to continue accessing past stories and content. Advertisers are being contacted to discuss the next steps and assist with the transition.

The letter concluded with heartfelt thanks to all who have been part of Connect Savannah’s journey. “You have been the backbone of Connect Savannah. Your unwavering support and engagement have driven our mission, and we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.”
