Veteran journalist Sean McDevitt joins Inside Radio as managing editor, effective May 16. He succeeds Paul Heine, who announced his retirement in January after 15 years with the industry-leading publication and 47 years in the radio business. “I’m calling this a ‘semi-retirement.’ While I’m pulling back from full-time employment, I still plan to be involved in the industry in the future,” says Heine.

“Inside Radio is the industry’s most trusted news source, and I’m honored for the chance to continue the strong editorial legacy that Paul has built,” McDevitt said. “In an industry filled with opportunities for innovation and expansion, Inside Radio is primed to lead the way, helping our industry discover a future brimming with success and possibility.”

In his new role, McDevitt will oversee all editorial for Inside Radio, leading an editorial team that includes Frank Saxe, Jay Gleason and Rich Appel. He reports to Inside Radio Publisher and Manager Gene McKay.

In a career spanning more than three decades, McDevitt has served in a variety of editorial posts for CBS News, Bloomberg Television, CNN Money, TV industry trade publications, Guitar World and Guitar One magazines, and the Evansville (Indiana) Courier & Press. He’s a graduate of Indiana State University.
