We’re thrilled to announce that promising reporter Gabby Herzig will join The Athletic as a golf staff writer starting today.
Gabby has quickly established her name in golf media with her work at Sports Illustrated and Golf Digest. She’s broken news, told engaging stories and covered major events on the PGA and LPGA tours. She’s contributed to multiple platforms, including video.
She has a sharp eye for detail and understands that, for The Athletic, covering golf is not just about the professional game but how issues and trends affect recreational golfers. She has extensive experience in the game, both as a junior and as a collegiate golfer during her time at Pomona College.
Gabby will be a key contributor to our team with an eye on future growth opportunities within our coverage.
A proud New York City native, Gabby plays to a 3.1 handicap and at first said the Old Course at St. Andrews is the best course she’s ever played before rethinking it and changing her answer to North Berwick. Please join me in welcoming her to The Athletic.
