Awards were announced Saturday night (4/13/2013) at the conclusion of the NPA's annual convention in Lincoln. Honorees include:
The Gering Courier won first place in Class A Weekly, the smallest newspapers.
The Creighton News won first place in Class B Weekly.
The Neligh News & Leader won first place in Class C Weekly.
The Blair Washington County Pilot Tribune & Enterprise placed first in Class D Weekly, and the Seward County Independent finished third.
And TownNews.com customers swept the daily competition with the Kearney Hub first, the North Platte Telegraph second, and the Grand Island Independent third. Kearney, North Platte, Grand Island and Gering all are part of the BH Media Midwest Division, formerly Midlands Newspapers.
