Washington-- The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) mourns the loss of legendary black journalist Ben Williams.

A trailblazer, he would become the first African-American reporter at the San Francisco Examiner in 1962. Four years later he shattered another glass door when he transitioned to television as the Bay Area’s first African-American television reporter. He worked at KPIX-TV for more than 25 years, alongside two other respected black broadcasters former KPIX reporters Belva Davis and Barbara Rodgers.
