DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES - In response to the changing economics of the media industry,
Los Angeles Downtown News is launching a “Support Local Journalism” campaign. The effort, from
Downtown News editor, publisher and founder Sue Laris, begins this week.
Readers of the publication,
which has been free online and in print since Laris founded it 40 years
ago, are being asked to voluntarily contribute at a level of support
starting at $5 a month (or make a lump sum payment). An online campaign
has begun at
