Rick Segal, president worldwide and chief practice officer of gyro, has been appointed chairman of the BPA Worldwide Board of Directors. He will serve as BPA’s chairman for fiscal year 2013-14.

“I am very excited to begin my tenure as Chairman of the BPA Board,” Segal said. “BPA continues to be the front-runner when it comes to thought leadership in the media industry, and now, with its iCompli services that assure conformance to industry guidelines, government regulations and self-declared internal policies and controls, I am confident this organization will become well recognzied in that space as well.”

Prior to his appointment, Segal served as 1
st Vice Chairman and 2nd Vice Chairman of the BPA Board.

In addition to his post with BPA, Segal is also a member of the National Board of Directors and Executive Committee; Vice Chair of Government Affairs, American Advertising Federation; a member of the Board of Directors, Business Marketing Association; a member of the Executive Committee, Advertising Hall of Fame. He also serves on the board of the Institute for the Study of Business Markets at the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University, and as a member of the Corporate Advisors Board of the Business Marketing Academy at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.

Long active in public affairs, Segal serves as a member of the Board of Advisors of the Ashbrook Center for strengthening constitutional self-government at Ashland University. From 1997-2000, he served as a senior advisor to Steve Forbes in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination and was responsible for the campaign’s breakthrough Internet effort. He also serves as a member of the Development Committee of Bethlehem College & Seminary, Minneapolis. Reverend Billy Graham referred to Segal as the “best PR chair we’ve ever had” for his work on his 2002 mission to Greater Cincinnati.
