These appointments allow us to recognize the team of senior managers that will have direct responsibility and direct impact across all AIM properties,” added Starks.
The new AIM Media Texas appointments are as follows:
Patrick S. Canty – Regional Vice President
Jenise Diaz – Chief Financial Officer
Debbie L. Grant – Director of Finance & Controller
Robert Levrier – Circulation Director
Armando Martinez – Human Resources Director
Doug Fullerton – Information Technology Director
Canty has served as publisher at the Odessa American since 2003 and he will remain in that position in addition to his new duties for AIM. Earlier in his career, he served as director of training and special projects for the community newspapers division at Freedom Communications, publisher at the Porterville (Calif.) Recorder, editor at the Valley Morning Star in Harlingen, and Sunday/special projects editor at the San Antonio Light. Canty currently serves as president at the Texas Daily Newspaper Association.
Diaz served as regional director of financial planning and analysis for the southwest region of Freedom Communications since late 2009. Earlier in her career, she served as regional director of finance for the same group, as chief financial officer for the Texas group of Freedom Communications and as senior auditor at Van Burkleo, Powell, David & Co. of Weslaco, Texas.
Grant served as regional controller for the southwest region of Freedom Communications since 2009. Earlier in her career, she served as controller at The Monitor in McAllen and as controller at McAllen Bolt & Screw, Inc. (now Wurth Bolt & Screw) in McAllen.
Levrier served as regional circulation director for the Rio Grande Valley group of Freedom Communications as well as the regional circulation lead for the southwest region of Freedom Communications.
Martinez served as regional human resources director for the southwest and central regions of Freedom Communications since 2001. Earlier in his career, he served as human resources director at Blockbuster Distribution, as human resources director at Coastal Banc (now Capital One) and as recruiter at HEB.
Fullerton served as regional director of information technology for the Rio Grande Valley group of Freedom Communications since 2007. Earlier in his career, he served as IT director at The Monitor, as IT director and webmaster at The Brownsville Herald, as an independent web designer and in the healthcare industry at various positions in hospitals in Austin, El Paso and McAllen including McAllen Medical Center.
