2013 Print Quality Contest:
Does your newspaper stand out against the rest? If you answered yes, your printed product should be entered in the 2013 AE Print Quality Contest! Each year, the contest is held in conjunction with America East, the premiere technology and operations conference for news organizations. Next year's event will take place April 8 - 10 in Hershey, Pa.
Contest entries will be judged in six different categories including black ink laydown, color ink laydown, color registration, halftone quality, page alignment and overall print alignment and appearance. Commercial printers can enter the publications they print, too!
The deadline to enter is Friday, December 7 and all newspaper entries must be postmarked by Monday, December 17 in order to be eligible for judging.
2013 Digital Quality Contest:
Do you have the best news website? If your website is top-notch, prove it, and enter the 2013 AE Digital Quality Contest! This contest is also held in conjunction each year with America East. Awards will be presented on Monday, April 8, prior to the Keynote Luncheon.
All submitted website entries will be judged for the Best Overall Website Category and entrants can also select four additional categories to enter at no additional charge. A detailed list of contest categories is available on the America East website. Category examples include: Best Community Website, Best Interaction with Readers, Best Overall Use of Social Media and Best Mobile Version or App.
The deadline to enter is Monday, January 14.
